Hello, Warriors! My name is Dawn Floyd. It is a privilege to welcome you to the sixth grade at Moore’s Mill Intermediate School. I look forward to an exciting year at The Mill!
I have been an educator for 17 years. I have taught fifth and sixth grade. I have an Elementary Education degree from Athens State University and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from The University of North Alabama (UNA). My favorite subject to teach is language arts.
I was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama. I moved to Huntsville with my husband in 2007. I am very close to my family. I have a younger sister, Heather, who lives in Orlando, Florida. My parents are retired and still live in Tuscumbia.
I have a four year old daughter, Mary Chandler, who keeps me on my toes. She likes Minnie Mouse and bossing her mommy and daddy around. She loves to swim and go out on the boat. She is loves anything Disney.
When I am not teaching or planning school activities, I like to go to the beach or the lake, read, be with my family, and have Netflix marathons.
These are my favorite things:
Restaurant: Mezza Luna
Fast Food: McDonald’s
Sport to watch: football (WAR EAGLE)
Dessert: Key Lime Pie
Candy: Reese’s Easter Eggs
